Each year the Kingston Kayak Club presents a number of trophies to its members for paddling endeavours and services to the club.  Here we list a bit about the trophies, how they came about and why someone my have the honour or displeasure of winning one.

Discipline Trophies
 
Polo Award
This trophy is awarded to the club member how has really made their mark in canoe polo, whether that is within the club, the teams or nationally.  Celebrating achievement and development.

Slalom Award
The slalom award recognises paddler within the club who have progressed through the ranking, "flying the clubs flag".  This can be awarded to any division paddler and is about dedication and achievement.

Marathon Award
Originally marathon was the main competitive sport of the club and this trophy acknowledges those paddlers competing in this discipline and putting in the hard work and dedication.

Trish Rawding Award for Coaching
In memory of Trish Rawding, a School Teacher and committed canoe coach; this award goes to the person who the committee feel has made a real contributions to coaching within the club.

General Trophies

Kier Davey Trophy for Endeavour
Two trophies are awarded to the male and female club member who really put there heart and sole into the sport.

In memory of Steven this trophy is awarded to an under 14 who throws themselves into every aspect of canoe sport.

Frank Courtney
Frank Courtney was a club member who was integral in conversion of the Club House when the club first move in, in memory of him and to celebrate those non-paddling members who dedicate their time to help the club.

Photo Competition
On every paddling trip, competition or club event there is usually some kind of bank support often with a camera in hand. This yearly competition gives everyone a chance to enter their photos that capture the fun of canoe sports.

Chairman's Award
This award is purely a the discretion of the Chairman to award and can be for whatever reason they feel fit.  As they have the honour of doing the presentations they do get change to explain why this has been awarded at the presentation and social evening.

Fish Award
As canoeist this award is the one everyone tries to avoid, it is awarded to the person who has the most embarrassing swim in the year. No one's safe, all it takes is an ill-fitting spraydeck and anyone can end up practicing their front crawl.
